Vibration Plate Classes

What Is Vibration Plate Training?

Vibration Plate Training uses hundreds of vibrations per minute to stimulate the muscles throughout the body, as the client struggles against the vibration. This muscle stimulation extends to the finer muscles throughout the body (which are often not addressed in conventional exercise). This repeated muscle activation increases the strength of nerve impulses to improve the use and function of muscle, and the continuous contractions forced by the vibration improve oxygen delivery to muscles, and flush the lymph system of waste products. At the same time, the motion of the machine places tiny stressors on the skeletal system, which tells the body to activate bone growth cells and increase HGH, which both contribute to bone density and muscle formation and loss of belly fat (visceral fat).

Typically clients stand on a vibrating plate or platform, where the amount of vibration can be adjusted higher or lower, depending on the desired results. Activities on the vibration plate can range from simply standing, to using resistance bands, dumbbells,, or kettlebells to boost results. Vibration plate training can also be useful in stretching routines and yoga routines, or can incorporate barre and pilates moves.

Because the biological processes created by vibration plate training are similar to the effects produced by explosive power training or high intensity interval training (HIIT), it is a safe alternative for those who can’t tolerate such high impact activity, but still want the benefits. At the same time, studies with athletes have shown that vibration plate training leads to better performance, because of the increase in muscle glycogen, which results in increased endurance for very intense activities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Benefits of Vibration Plate Training

There have been many studies and clinical trials on the benefits of Vibration Plate Training and Vibration Exercise to a wide range of clients. A clinical trial in 2019 showed a significant increase in bone density in subjects using whole body vibration versus high intensity impact exercises (HIIT).

In the arena of health and physical appearance, one of the least attractive and most unhealthy issues is visceral (or abdominal) fat. This is the fat around the mid-section that is very hard to target. A number of studies have shown supervised training with vibrational equipment to be one of the most effective means to reduce visceral fat. This chart below shows the results from a recent European Study.

Who Can Use Vibration Plate Training?

If one of the conditions listed below applies to you we strongly advise that you consult with your physician before using the WBV machine. If you have any known health concerns in addition to this list, consult your physician and advise them you wish to begin a sonic vibration exercise program which vibrates in a vertical plane between 3-50 Hz (vibrations per second) and has an adjustable intensity (rate at which the plate vibrates up and down). Your body may endure between negative and positive 3 Gs of force for up to 10 minutes. This can be equivalent to 1 hour of cardio.
